Tate-Jones units are for use in low pressure applications (5 PSI) where 100% shutoff is not required.  The Blast Gate Observation Ports use the standard line of Tate-Jones blast gates as the primary component and incorporate a glass lens, gaskets and rings securely retained with metal bushings.

GLASS TYPES AVAILABLE
Vycor Blue – Designated by a “VB” in the model number. Maximum intermittent operating temperature is 2192°F. Maximum continuous operating temperature is 1652°F (Glass Only)*. A blue-colored heat resisting borosilicate glass. (Limited – Discountinued)

Quartz Clear – Designated by a “Q” in the model number. Maximum intermittent operating temperature is 2048°F. Maximum continuous operating temperature is 1600°F (Glass Only)*.

Pyrex Clear – (borosilicate glass) Designated by a “P” in the model number. Maximum intermittent operating temperature is 554°F. Maximum continuous operating temperature is 446°F (Glass Only)* . Glass is heat strengthened for safety and is coated with a heat reflecting shield.
